As an Accounts and Audit Manager at our client’s Eastbourne office, you will work as part of the Accounts and Audit team assisting on client accounting, tax compliance tasks and auditing tasks. The job role is likely to be 70% audit and 30% accounts work. The candidate must be ACA or ACCA qualified or AAT qualified with appropriate experience. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years practice experience, including 2 in an audit role.

Responsibilities

As an Accounts and Audit Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with partners on client management, practice development, and business strategy
  • Leading and managing engagements ensuring timely and efficient completion
  • Completing file reviews on a range of audit clients, utilising your existing technical knowledge and experience whilst developing your skills still further and ensuring quality standards are met
  • Being instrumental in implementing compliance with regulatory standards and internal firm quality policies
  • Developing the team and be a role model
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, assisting with the structuring of their training

Skills required

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or AAT qualified with appropriate experience
  • A minimum of two years recent practical audit experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in UK GAAP, FRS 102, LLP SORP and ISAs
  • Good IT skills, knowledge of CCH would be great, but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Experience at managing teams including setting workflow and reviewing work of others
  • Specialisms in Charity audits and/or Solicitor Accounts Rules would be a bonus
  • Awareness of changes in current accounts and audit legislation
  • Problem solver with an investigative nature, including an acute attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
