Job Description

ProTalent are currently working with an exciting, forward thinking and modern accountancy practice to recruit a Senior Client Manager.

The Role:
• Managing a portfolio of clients – production of final statutory (FRS 102(1A) and FRS105) and non-statutory accounts, preparation of Corporate Tax, Partnership and Self Assessment Tax Returns including business tax computations for Limited Company’s, LLP’s, Partnerships, Sole Trades and individuals. 
• Effective and proactive communication with clients including review meetings
• Overseeing Accounts Production process for practice – allocation of work and achievement of internal targets. Monitoring progress. Our target is to finalise accounts production 3-4 months from year-end
• Overseeing and sharing with Senior Manager(s) the Self Assessment Tax Return Production process for practice – allocation of work and achievement of internal targets. Monitoring progress
• Good working knowledge of Online Accounts software packages used by practice (CCH Wolters Kluwer, ClearBooks, Xero, FreeAgent etc.)
• Review of draft accounts/tax returns/VAT returns/P11D’s/correspondence produced by advisory staff 
• Provide accounts and tax support for general practice work as required 
• Dealing with accountancy and tax related queries raised by clients and effectively communicating with them clearly on all matters
• Achievement of all relevant HMRC and Companies House filing deadlines
• Achievement of internal reporting deadlines
• Company secretarial matters 
• Preparation of End of Year Employer Returns P11D

As well as the above duties, you will also be required to have some involvement in practice management, these duties are likely to take up one day a week:
• Organising and working effectively together as part of Management Team (Director/Senior Manager(s)). Attendance and active participation in Quarterly Management Meetings
• Ongoing development, improvement and automation of internal systems. Within 6-9 months of joining firm carrying out a review of internal systems and procedures with recommendations for improvements. 
• Sharing new client take-on process with Director/Senior Manager(s). Including meeting prospective clients, fee quotes, preparation of Engagement Letter etc.
• Practice management – assist with managing the practice. Various tasks including: -
• Assisting Director with Practice assurance matters – ensuring firm is compliant as ICAEW member firm with ML, Clients’ Money, GDPR regulations, DPB licence and completion of ICAEW annual return. Covering our systems, procedures, communications and website
• Acting as Data Protection Manager
• Managing Money Laundering training for staff – initial (for new) and ongoing updates (for existing). Ensuring Adherence to Client Due Diligence procedures across practice
• Management of training requirements for practice including non-advisory staff – assessment of requirements and organising appropriate internal/external training
• Ensuring client Terms of Engagement up-to-date and appropriate
• Managing major new accounting/tax projects 
• Achievement of annual Practice Growth targets – including: -
o Monthly review of WIP/timesheets ensuring fees raised in timely manner
o Annual review of fixed price fees v costs (salaries, software subscriptions, outsourced payroll etc.)
o Achieving firms annual fee targets

• Technical research and responsibility for ensuring clients are made aware of important legislative changes which affect them via website and other appropriate means of communication

The Candidate:
• ACA or ACCA qualified, although we will consider candidates qualified by experience
• Professional, enthusiastic and able to manage their own work load
• Keen to have a key role within a dynamic accountancy firm
