ProTalent is working with a leading Accountancy Practice based in Bury St Edmunds, providing high-quality accounting and tax services to diverse clients. Due to growth, there is a new opening for a skilled Accountant to join the team and contribute to theircontinued growth.

Job Summary:
As a Senior Accountant, you will deliver excellent accounting services and ensure tax compliance for clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement for flexibility.

Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting services, tax returns, and special services for clients.
- Provide projections, forecasting, and VAT return services.
- Support clients with payroll advice and services.
- Utilise paperless software applications and assist with Sage Line 50.
- Prepare draft accounts and tax computations for review.
- Cultivate client relationships and identify additional service opportunities.
- Represent the firm at networking events and raise its profile.
- Process client records, complete administrative tasks, and contact clients for information.
- Handle VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns.
- Assist with company secretarial work and maintain statutory books.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, review their work, and ensure compliance.
- Undertake general administration tasks and support partners/managers.
- Participate in training and meet CPD requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
- ACCA or ACA (fully or part) qualified, or equivalent.
- Experience in accounts preparation and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities.
